Hi I’m Michelle and I know that reaching out for help is hard.
Maybe you are nervous about making contact with a therapist for the first time?
Scared that you may be overwhelmed by your feelings and not know what to say?
Concerned that you may be wasting your money?
These thoughts and feelings are natural when you first consider counselling and I am here to help you right from the start.
Online counselling
I work exclusively online, offering integrative counselling that is guided by your needs and paced in a client-led way. We work around what is going on in your life right now so the work we do doesn’t feel overwhelming. The core of our work is the therapeutic relationship — feeling understood, accepted, and supported — and this can be just as strong and effective online as it is face to face.
Using a DBT-informed approach, we focus on accepting things as they are right now, while also working towards meaningful change. Many clients find that meeting from their own space allows them to feel more grounded and open, helping the work to feel both practical and emotionally containing.
I am a naturally kind and compassionate person who is genuinely interested in listening and supporting you. I am very comfortable in the realm of feelings and emotions and how they present in the body and this is reflected in my work. Together we can make sense of your feelings and experiences and help you take that first step toward meaningful change. As a qualified counsellor who has worked in the South East and North East as well as online. My clients are based in Canterbury, Whitstable, Faversham, Ashford in East Kent. Sevenoaks and London as well as York, Durham, Newcastle upon Tyne, Whitley bay, Tynemouth, Jesmond, Heaton, Fenham and North Shields.
I also work online with Ashford Counselling Services helping a diverse range of adults of all ages and backgrounds. Their reasons for seeking counselling are as varied as they are and I feel honoured to share their healing journeys with them.
I am privileged to be a Grief Companion with The Compassionate Friends. A charity supporting parents who have suffered the loss of a child. I offer support to a parent going through their year of ‘firsts’. Being able to do this helps them know they are not alone and that it is possible to live beyond such insurmountable grief and sadness.
I offer a range of counselling areas of expertise and have had extensive training in working with trauma. I work with both PTSD and Complex PTSD using Mindfulness Based CBT and DBT as well as the Rewind Therapy which can give ‘closure without disclosure’. My bereavement and grief counselling focuses on how to continue living a meaningful and happy life and after the loss of someone who is deeply loved.
I can offer skills and techniques that help with Distress Tolerance and Emotional Regulation to Anxiety and Panic attacks and I have helped clients gain relief from symptoms associated with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder especially intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviours. I have had specialist training in offering counselling online and so can work with clients wherever they are in the UK.
I bring a wealth of life experience to my work which helps me empathise and connect with people from all walks of life.
But it is your experiences that are important in the room not mine.
Our focus will always be on what is going on for you and how you are dealing with it.
Wherever you are in the UK each 50 minute session is charged at £50
